Read any good books?

For all of you readers out there. It's the beginning of a new year and time to set a goal for yourself. Make a list of all the books/authors you read in 2006. I recently read on someone's blog that they read 314 books in 2005. I don't plan to met that, nor beat it, but I would like to read some good books so any suggestions throw them our way.
Ray likes GRISHAM type (but he doesn't write them fast enough)
Mel likes Christian Fiction but currently reading MAEVE BINCHY
Out of all the books you read this year NEVER STOP READING THE BEST BOOK - THE BIBILE!!

Hey guys...great blog.

(Love the ice skating photo...but have to admit i got a little lost with the whole Cheerios in the toilet thing!)

Anyway...miss you guys lots but good to hear things are going well. Way to get involved in your church. Wow! Not much of a reader myself (except Grisham)...but Carolyn is trying to get me to read Doctor Phil's book on the Phenominal Family (or something like that). i've made it 9 pages in and sort of stalled.

Take care...

If you know me, I'm still big into The Lord of the Rings. I just bought The Hobbit because I ripped through the first time and I want to re-read and pay attention this time. I just got the WHOLE LOTR unabridged (word for word) on CD for listening pleasure to and from work. And Mel, may I suggest The Shiloh Legacy from Bodie Thoene? Those are my favorite Christian reads. Cory's reading a new devotional he just bought as well as The Bourne Identity and Supremacy.

Hey Gang,

Usually not the reading type, since Christmas I've just been tearing it up!

I just finished The Da Vinci Code in anticipation of the movie coming out soon. It is clearly fiction, claiming the Holy Grail (the cup used by Christ during 'The Last Supper') is in fact allegory for ... well, you'll have to read the book to find out. It's a fun read, let's leave it at that.

For fun and for work, I've started reading The Ecology of Commerce (mostly theory), the suggested prerequisite reading before Natural Capitalism (mostly case studies) - this one is next. These books suggest a different way of conducting business; fostering natural cycles and true sustainability in order to avoid the impending implications of continuing to conduct business in our traditional manner.

And for school (yea, I'm back in the good ol' Faculty of Commerce), I'm reading my Managerial Accounting text. Boo-urns.

So I've got a lot on my bedstand.

John!

Thanks for the great book ideas. John I think I'll leave the textbook reading to you - not a huge fan of that one. I do love to learn and I previously said I would be a student for life but I could do without the textbook reads. Todd, I not a huge fan of Dr. Phil so I can see how one would get stalled on that book. I do like Dobson's bring up boys so that won't be much help to your family of girls but it's good read too. I bet some could be transfered over to the female side. Cory I hope you are making it through Bourne Identity, Ray had picked it up at Christmas and still hasn't finished it.
